About us

Das Leben am Haverkamp (DLAH) is an artist-run space for fashion, art and experimentation in The Hague.

Driven by a fascination with the irrational logic of fashion, DLAH develops a program that approaches fashion as a cultural and social phenomenon. Through workshops, exhibitions and performances, DLAH explores the seductive nature of luxury and the absurdity of the costumed role-playing that shapes our daily lives.

DLAH functions as both a studio and a platform for presentation and exchange, where collective making is seen as an activist alternative to passive consumption. Through artist residencies and open calls, participating makers collectively unravel the complex themes embedded in fashion, such as identity, desire, consumption and status. Through humor, estrangement and imagination, they open up space for critical reflection, collective dreaming and new forms of action.

Our program is supported by Creative Fund NL and Gemeente Den Haag.

Residence program
We have a curated program for which we scout and select artists, makers and thinkers. Residencies last approximately two months and generally lead up to a presentation of some kind. Would you like to be on our longlist? Tip your own work or work of someone you think we should consider via this form and we will take it into consideration during our selection.

The floor is yours
Always dreamed of hosting your own fashion show, belly dance event, clothing swap or film screening and inviting your network, family and fans? It is possible to rent our space and open up to the public.
