MUSEUMNACHT—DRESSING CHARACTERS
Connect with your inner plant and photograph yourself as a botanical icon! During Museum Night, the original modular plant costume from the film The Plantriarchy (2023, by G.C. Heemskerk and Bernice Nauta) will be available for the public to wear. Say yes to the weeds!
What if the world was dominated by plants? Or if we wouldn’t be able to speak? This exhibition reunites three experimental films and their speculative costumes, made by Das Leben am Haverkamp Collective. Expect trippy plant suits, pigeon feeding hats, powder-colored mini balaclavas with teeth, that were designed for Lose Voice Toolkit (2024, 18min30), Bericht van de Duif (2024, 6min35), The Plantriarchy (2023, 17min45).
All three films are on show continuously back-to-back. Grab your popcorn and take a seat!
Next to this you can dress up and photograph yourself and your friends as one of the characters of The Plantriarchy.
