Upcoming: WORKSHOP — SEWING
This autumn, Das Leben am Haverkamp is opening its doors to teach you how to sew. Maybe you want to make a costume for your pole-dancing alter ego, recreate your worn-out favorite pair of trousers that is no longer available anywhere, sew an outfit for your baby or dog, design a supporters’ outfit to cheer on your favorite football club, or simply shorten your trousers.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
28 October, 4, 11, 18, 25 November 2026 from 19:00—21:30 h. For €225, you’ll take a course consisting of 5 lessons of 2,5 hours each (including snacks and drinks).
The course is held in a small group of up to 6 people, allowing plenty of room for personal attention and guidance. Everyone is welcome — from beginners to pros. Ages 14 and up. The course is held in both English and Dutch. You’ll be guided by Dewi Bekker, an experienced designer who can support your project from both a technical and artistic perspective. All participants work on a project of their own choosing, which they bring with them.
In principle, you’ll work on your own sewing machine. This way, you’ll get to know your own machine properly and, by the end of the course, know exactly how it works. If bringing your own machine isn’t an option, let us know and we’ll find a solution together.
The studio has professional ironing equipment, an industrial sewing machine, a heavy-duty machine for sewing heavier materials, and an overlocking machine.
